Terms of Service

Last updated: 21 August 2026

The short version: try V-Tune free for 14 days; pay £49.99 once and it's yours on all your devices, forever, updates included. Don't resell or redistribute it, and remember it's a tuning aid — any changes you make to an instrument are at your own risk.

1. Who we are

V-Tune ("the app", "we", "us") is a precision strobe tuner for handpans and other multi-modal instruments, developed and maintained by Simon Baronti, United Kingdom. Contact: support@vtune-app.com.

2. The trial

Every new installation includes a 14-day free trial of the full app. No payment details or account are required to start it. When the trial ends, the app locks until a V-Tune Pro purchase is made. The trial is per person, not per device or reinstall — circumventing the trial timer is a breach of these terms.

3. Your licence

Purchasing V-Tune Pro (£49.99, one-time) grants you a personal, perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use V-Tune on devices you own or control. One purchase covers all your platforms — sign in with the same V-Tune account to unlock each device. The licence includes app updates as we release them; it does not oblige us to release specific future features.

You may not: resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app or licence; share one purchase across multiple people; reverse-engineer the app except where law permits; or use the app to build a competing product from its code or assets.

4. Purchases & payment

Purchases on this website are processed by Paddle, who act as merchant of record — your payment relationship, invoice and applicable taxes are handled by Paddle, and Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms also apply. Purchases inside the iOS or Android app are made through Apple's App Store or Google Play under their respective terms. Refunds are covered by our refund policy.

5. Accounts

An account (email, Apple or Google sign-in) is optional for using the trial, and is used to attach your purchase to you so it unlocks on your other devices. Keep your sign-in method secure; you're responsible for activity under your account. You can request account deletion at any time — see the privacy policy.

6. Tuning disclaimer — please read

V-Tune is a measuring instrument, not a tuning service. Retuning a handpan or any instrument involves physically altering it and can damage it if done without appropriate skill. We make no warranty that the app's readings suit any particular purpose, and we accept no responsibility for damage to instruments, or any other loss, arising from work performed with the app's assistance. If in doubt, consult a professional instrument maker or tuner.

7. Warranty & liability

The app is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and our total liability to you for any claim connected with the app or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence), and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Changes

We may update the app and these terms. For material changes to the terms we'll post the new version here with an updated date, and note it in the app where appropriate. Continuing to use the app after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms. Your right to a refund, if any, is governed by the refund policy and applicable consumer law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections of your local law.
